OPLI’s 90-Day, $90,000 Challenge

The Oregon Paleo Lands Institute is in need of your immediate support. We are facing a budget shortfall this year and without your help we may have to close our doors permanently.  To keep this from happening, in mid-September we launched OPLI’s 90-Day, $90,000 Challenge.

OPLI’s Field Center, public programs and private tours continue to draw visitors. This year, some 2,870 visitors, and 425 youth in our school programs, experienced and explored the archive of the past 100 million years of the Earth’s natural and cultural history in the John Day Basin.

In addition to enriching the experience of visitors to the region, OPLI plays an important role in helping to sustain local, rural communities. To better serve our mission of bridging the rural-urban divide, we will be gathering on November 17 in Portland for a fun and educational event!  See “Paleo Lands at the Pub” for details.

Jay and Teresa Bowerman have pledged the first $5000 and challenge you to join them! It is with great appreciation to the Bowermans that we launch this opportunity and ask you, our friends and supporters, to help us meet this goal. Any amount will help!

All of us at OPLI, from the Staff to the Board of Directors, are digging deep to contribute. But we will not be successful without the immediate assistance of our friends. Please consider making a contribution on-line or with the printable form available here.  To read more about our Board’s commitment to organizational sustainability click here.

Sincerely,

Kevin Campbell, Board President
